Description: The 4 Hectare site is the former offices of the Royal Bank of Scotland. The buildings are currently being demolished down to slab level by the demolition contractor.

 McArdle have been appointed to carry out the following works required to enable Berkeley to commence construction of the new basement car parks and apartment blocks.

  

  • Post demolition site investigation  including soil chemical analysis and reporting
  • Removal from site of approximately 70,000 tonnes of crushed demolition arisings
  • Treatment of hydrocarbon contaminated ground water and the removal of ‘free product’ from the underlying sands and gravels
  • Breaking out and removal from site of remaining concrete floor slabs, basement walls and foundations (transported to McArdle recycling centres)
  • Excavation to form basement and removal from site of surplus soils
  • Installation of piling mats
  • Carry out validation testing and reporting
