This is an exclusive residential development within a busy South West London suburb on a former industrial and gasworks site.

The McArdle Group's Environmental and Construction Services (ECS) division has been present on this 15-hectare site since July 1999, forging an excellent relationship with the client. We secured a number of contracts with a combined value of over £20 million through both competitive tender and negotiation.

With nearby residential and light industrial users as neighbours, McArdle ECS worked closely with St George to ensure minimal disruption to these sensitive populations through our work activities.

The bulk earthworks and remediation elements of the overall project included:

  • Demolition works
  • Steel Sheet Piling
  • Bulk excavations including contaminated land protocol
  • Contaminated groundwater treatment
  • Recycling of material/pre-treatment
  • Disposal of contaminated soils
  • Noise and dust monitoring including odour control
  • Capillary break layer and gas venting
  • Clean service corridors
  • Groundworks and drainage
  • Pile probing and removal of obstructions, pile attendance
  • Lime and cement stabilised piling platforms
