The McArdle Group carried out this project for a new hospital at North Staffordshire Mental Health Unit in Stoke on Trent. The work included groundworks, roadworks, hard and soft landscaping, with specific requirements to:
- Reduce level dig to formation for the new hospital, including disposal of surplus topsoil material
- Soil stabilisation including re-use of suitable soil from reduced level excavation
- Groundworks for the new hospital including construction of strip foundations and in-situ cast reinforced C40 ground bearing floor slab
- Hard landscaping including tarmac surfacing to new car parks and high quality paving to footpaths around the new hospital grounds
- Reinforced concrete retaining wall construction including waterproofing and land drainage
- Foul/surface water drainage and services
- Soft landscaping
- Gabion wall construction
- Construction of perimeter access road and entrance road to the hospital
