Quick thinking Brian Stainer (McArdle Plant Operator) prevented and took control of a situation on site where another contractors rubber duck was close to overturning.

failed to carry out the manouvre in full, and whilst trying to reverse back onto the carriageway, the wheels lost traction and was left in

precarious position.

 

Brian witnessing the incident from a distance carrying out his own duties, realized the danger and informed his ganger that he had to help and took control of the situation.

 

He made the area safe by removing all personnel and used his excavator to help the rubber duck.

 

Received an award from Skanska Balfour Beatty for his actions during the monthly H&S meeting by the Project Director.
