The McArdle Group Head Office and Yard Areas have been upgraded and the level of security provided for grounds and staff enhanced. The security upgrade centres on the installation of an integrated Speed and Number Plate Recognition Camera System.
The Number Plate Recognition Camera works in two ways.
Firstly, it measures vehicle speed approaching the McArdle Yard and records this in the main database and, secondly, it records the Number Plate in the database and checks to see if the registration is listed as that of a McArdle Employee.
If there is a match, the barrier will automatically lift.
If the registration number is not listed on the system, the barrier will not lift and the driver wishing to gain entry to the yard will need to press the buzzer at the gate, which is linked permanently to reception.
The reception PC will be connected to the camera system to allow the receptionist to see the vehicle trying to gain access and he/she will be able to record who they are before they enter the yard.
The remainder of the security upgrades include all round cameras being installed to the Workshop and a new Dome Camera being installed to the car parking area to the front of the building.
This now covers all of the McArdle Yard and provides a better security solution.
