Description:
Main Contractor Bowmer and Kirkland have appointed J McArdle Contracts as earthworks sub-contractor at their Birch Coppice Business Park site, Dordon near Tamworth.
A 33,000m² distribution centre will be built for online grocery group Ocado. A further 94,000m² of hardstanding areas will be provided.
Soil Stabilisation, one of the McArdle Groups specialist skills, will play a vital role in providing a firm footing for the project.
The soil stabilisation process, along with the use of recycled concrete in lieu of primary aggregates, will help minimise the environmental impact for the ex-colliery site.
