Rentokil Initial is one of the largest business services companies in the world. This design and construct contract by the McArdle Group was undertaken for Rentokil at Cotes Park Industrial Estate in Alfreton, Derbyshire.
The project by the McArdle Group included:
- Break out of existing slab
- Investigation, grouting and capping of mine shafts with reinforced concrete slabs to prevent future collapse
- Excavation and disposal of inert and contaminated soils
- Importation of 5,400t MOT type 1 and reconstruction of 11,400m2 C40 Air entrained concrete
- Installation of 100,000-litre surface water holding tank
- Construction of two pumping stations for foul and surface water
- Installation of 11,200m of gravity and rising main pipe for foul and surface water
- Re-surfacing with tarmac
- Construction of reinforced blast bay for use as shot-blasting area
