McArdle Group accessibility statement
The McArdle Group is committed to making the information on our website accessible to all. In constructing and maintaining this website, we have endeavoured to make it as accessible as possible.
To this end, we have followed the accessibility guidelines of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The W3C’s WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) produces accessibility guidelines that are an internationally recognised benchmark of accessibility, and we aim to meet the AA level of conformance with the WAI’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0).
In particular, the McArdle Group website:
- Provides text alternatives for non-text content, including images and any audio and video content
- Makes content adaptable and available to assistive technologies
- Uses sufficient contrast to make text easy to read
- Makes key functionality keyboard accessible
- Helps users to navigate and find content
- Makes text readable and understandable
- Makes content appear and operate in predictable ways
- Helps users to avoid and correct mistakes
- Maximises compatibility with current and future technologies
Specific benefits include:
- Pages that are fast to download, regardless of whether you are using broadband or a modem
- Relative text sizes, allowing users to change font size easily using their browser
- Content of each page still readable even if your browser or browsing device does not support Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
- Descriptive ALT (i.e. alternative text) attributes on images. Certain decorative graphics include null ALT attributes
- All pages able to function without JavaScript. Please note, though, that certain features such as error checking on forms may only be available when JavaScript is enabled
